Giving back to Allaire State Park

Did you know know that many of the great locations in Allaire are ran by non-profit groups that need your help? Though they all work closely with the state, they do not receive enough (or any) funding from the state park system to keep their amazing locations open. Please consider giving back in some way. Become a member... donate your time... give a donation. Anything will help these great groups!

Allaire Village Inc.

The Historic Village at Allaire is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, licensed by the State of New Jersey to operate and manage the historic property located within Allaire State Park.

How You Can Give Back

Donate: Your donation ensures that we can offer quality educational and mentoring programs that teach leadership, communication, and history to our volunteers and the community!

Volunteer: Volunteer as a Historical Interpretor (working in our historic buildings dressed in period clothing) or an Event Volunteer (helping with things like ticket sales, parking cars, monitoring event activities).

Internships: The Historic Village at Allaire offers a variety of internships throughout the year that are designed to help build up and maintain the village, as well as show interns how historic museums operate. Positions include Collections and Archives and Historical Research.

Become a Member: As a Member, you receive advanced notification of exhibits, family programs and Member Only events. Discounts and privileges are designed to help you make the most of your visits, and attend more often.

Patronize the Village Though visiting the village itself is free, spending money on special events, special programs, and in the village stores will help support the village.

Public Events

The village itself is open year round, as long as the park itself is open. During the warmer months, the village has many Historical Interpretors working throughout the village to teach you the history of Allaire.

The village also has special events throughout the year including special tours, seasons activites, festivals and more.

The Village and Railroad Are Not the Same Organization

Many folks feel that the Railroad and the Village are both ran by the state. They are not. They are also different organizations. So please note that giving to Allaire Village is great, but it does not help the NJMT keeps its doors open. Please consider visiting both, and giving back to both, each visit.

The New Jersey Museum of Transportation, Inc. is a private, volunteer-operated, 501(c)3 not-for-profit, educational organization. NJMT is the owner and operator of the Pine Creek Railroad, which is supported exclusively by train fares, souvenir sales and private contributions; it is not funded by the State or any public entity. Volunteers who donate more than 14,000 hours annually staff the organization. Donations are tax-deductible.

How You Can Give Back

Take a train ride! Each train ride ticket purchased helps NJMT! Same with purchasing a book or souvenir from the NJMT ticket office!

Volunteer! Volunteers play a key role in the organization: together they donate thousands of hours each year. They represent all different backgrounds and ages and are as young as 18.

Donate! We accept donations of any size, and in many forms. Call the Office on the weekends to speak with a volunteer. All donations are tax-deductible.

Public Events

There are many special events throughout the year, like the Easter Bunny Train and Special Santa trains in the winter. During warmer months the train runs throughout the week.
